A 360° film about Tczew — the footage is already shot
Drone footage of the Old Town and the New Town is ready — the film with a guide and captions is being made.
An 8K 360° film about your city, with the guide in captions and watchable with the sound off — just like the finished films about Bydgoszcz, Toruń and Opole.
What is ready for Tczew
360° drone footage of Tczew: 11 shots, 59 minutes of material in total from the Old Town and the New Town. From it we are making a guided film that tells the stories of particular places.
The finished films in the series, about Bydgoszcz, Toruń and Opole, look like this: a guided 360° flight, captions on screen, 8K (7680×3840), 60 fps, on YouTube, in DeoVR and in VR headsets.
Would you like the film to show a particular place in Tczew? Please send us a message through the form at the bottom of this page.
Embedding the films from YouTube on your websites needs no paperwork. Screenings, 8K files and trade fairs — we will agree the terms when we meet.
Accessibility: every word on screen
Every word of the guide is on screen. The captions are burned into the picture (open captions, WCAG 2.1, success criterion 1.2.2), so they work on YouTube, in DeoVR and in headsets. For now the captions are in English, like the narration (a synthetic voice); there is no audio description.
The same text stands in three places around the viewer, and one copy is always next to the place the guide is talking about — in a headset, the caption is where you look. The guide's full text is also under every film.
Captions in 360° films are still rare — in this series every film has them. Poland's Digital Accessibility Act refers to WCAG 2.1, and criterion 1.2.2 covers captions for recorded video. If you need a version with Polish captions, please send us a message — we collect these requests, and they decide which films get Polish captions first.
Heritage and 3D scans
A 3D scan of a historic building is documentation for the heritage conservator and a model in which visitors can see up close what cannot be seen from the ground.
There are no scans of Tczew yet — below are examples from Opole and Lublin that open in a browser, with nothing to install.
What a pilot could look like: a townhouse or a church in the Old Town, scanned outside and inside. A QR code at the entrance opens the model on a phone — you can look down on the roof and the tower, or “cut” the building open and look in at a height visitors cannot climb to.
The cathedral and Old Town streets (an example from Opole)
A 3D model in the browser, nothing to install
University of Opole (an example from Opole)
You can fly a drone through this scan in a simulator
Lublin's Old Town, the largest of my public scans
259 million splats, 13 levels of detail
A QR code next to a historic building will open its 3D model on a phone; on Android, in AR mode too.
What else we can do
A VR stand at an event
A flight over the Vistula and the Old Town in a headset — at a fête, a fair or a picnic, without leaving the tent.
A screening without headsets
A big screen, a kiosk or a 360° room that you walk into and fly over the city without a headset. We will prepare the file in the room's format.
A 3D scan and a QR code at a landmark
For example a townhouse in the Old Town: a model on the phone, seen from above, from every side and in cross-section.
3D games and tours in the browser
Nothing to install, built on real scans of the city — that is how the ShramkoGSFPV drone simulator works.
Scans for filmmakers and game makers
The Old Town or the Vistula riverbank as locations for virtual production, games and student projects — under an open licence, with the author credited.
Permits and paperwork
I handle the aviation paperwork with PAŻP and ULC (Poland's air navigation agency and Civil Aviation Authority) myself. From the city I need permission for the take-off sites and, for historic buildings and interiors, the consent of whoever manages them.
Over gatherings of people I fly only with a ULC permit. We blur faces and number plates in the scans.
Qualified UAS operator (A1/A3).
I live in Bydgoszcz. The easiest way to start is an online call — you can pick a time in my calendar.
How to start
- Watch a sample film from the series — from Toruń or Bydgoszcz.
- A 30-minute online call — at a time that suits you.
- A pilot in one place — a film, a scan or a VR screening.
An e-mail address is all we need — we will send the materials and reply

Questions
When will the film about Tczew be ready?
The footage is ready, and the film with a guide and captions is being made. We do not announce a date in advance — it will appear on this page as soon as it is published on YouTube.
Can the city embed these films on its website?
Yes. Embedding the films from YouTube on city and institution websites needs no paperwork. Screenings at events, 8K files and trade fairs — we will agree the terms when we meet.
Do the films have captions for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers?
Yes. Every film has open captions burned into the picture (WCAG 2.1, criterion 1.2.2). For now they are in English, like the narration; you can ask for a version with Polish captions through the form on this page.
Can a historic building be scanned in 3D and shown in AR via a QR code?
Yes. A QR code next to a historic building will open its 3D model on a phone, on Android in AR mode too. We suggest starting with a pilot for one building of your choice.
Who arranges the permissions to fly over Tczew?
I handle the aviation paperwork (PAŻP/ULC) myself. The city needs to give permission for the take-off sites and, for historic buildings and interiors, the manager's consent.
